Checkout Workflows

The checkout experience can be customized based on your site's requirements. There are currently three workflow items that can be enabled, disabled, and re-ordered:

• View Cart
• Billing address collection
• Shipping address collection

The order confirmation screen is always the last step in the checkout process.

This option gives the buyer the opportunity to update their shopping cart before checking out. This is the same view provided by the “View Cart” link in the shopping cart block, so may not be necessary.

A billing address and/or a shipping address can be collected from the customer. For logged-in users, the addresses are saved so they can easily be recalled for subsequent purchases.

Note that for physical items, the payment gateway may be configured to automatically collect shipping information. In this case, the shipping address received in the IPN message will override the information entered here. For the current gateway options (PayPal and Amazon), neither of these addresses are required.
