Managing Classes Classes represent the topic or theme of the images in the competition. An event may be restricted to a single class, e.g. “Human Interest”, or may allow the entrant to select any class from the designated class list. See [Events].

Managing Divisions Divisions represent skill levels for competitions. Divisions are treated very much like Classes, with lists that contain different divisions. Lists and Divisions are added and edited the same as Classes. These fields are used for a Division:

Managing Places Placement, or Award, lists can created for different events or sections. NameName of the placement, e.g. “First” or “Award”. This will be used in some listings to indicate the award given.ListList to which the placement belongs. Create a new list by typing a new name in the field provided; once created the list name will appear in the selection.

Reports The competition plugin supports two types of reports: the Full Catalog and the Slideshow. Which options appear on the screen depend upon which report type is selected. Reports are created as PDF files and saved in a web-accessible directory under /photocomp/reports/. By default this directory should be prevented from displaying a file list, either by including an empty index.html or by configuring the web server to disallow indexes.

PhotoComp Plugin Configuration Main Settings General Maximum File Size (bytes) Enter the maximum number of bytes for uploaded images. This number should be less than or equal to the setting in php.ini. Maximum File Size (bytes) Enter the minimum number of bytes allowed for uploaded images. This is intended to offer some protection against accidentally uploading thumbnails or very small images by mistake.

Photocomp Administration - Events Most of the administration is creating and updating Events. Before creating an event you should be sure that the Divisions, Classes, Voting Methods, Placements and Sections are set up. Once done, those elements typically require little administration.
